Two college students were enjoying a carefully prepared picnic lunch when an uninvited guest popped in to say hello.

The University of Florida students were more than a little surprised when a huge alligator leaped out of Lake Alice and strolled over to them.

Michael Tamayo and his friend were sitting at a scenic spot on the university campus when the reptile seized his opportunity to have a bite of lunch.

Tamayo told NBC News that such an alligator sighting wasn't unusual.
