A Sky News reporter couldn't keep a straight face when he had to read out the word 'tits' repeatedly during a nature story.

Niall Paterson struggled to get through the report about a bird populations during winter and descended into a rather juvenile fit of giggles.

"The number of small garden birds has increased this year thanks to a mild winter which made it easier for them to find food," he began normally.

However, he started laughing before reading the next sentence, "Long-tailed tits, Coal tits - this is horrible - and great tits are on the rise."

A fellow presenter said, "This is a nature story why is everybody laughing?" but Niall persevered and finished the report, which made the serious point that many garden birds are struggling.

He later took to Twitter to add, "I blame those who forced me to say "great tits are on the rise"."
