WATCH: 'Who had a fiver on him crying?' Tipp Dad gifted once in a lifetime trip to visit sisters in Australia
A family in Tipperary have grouped together to give their dad a present he's sure to remember.
Rathcabin native Oliver Brereton always wanted to visit his two sisters in Australia but never could get the time. Now, thanks to an incredibly generous gift from his family, he's heading to the land down under.
His wife, son, daughters, daughter-in-law, son-in-law and grandkids sat him down yesterday to present him with tickets to Australia, where he'll spend three weeks exploring in September.
His daughter Amy says he's delighted with the gift.
"I think he's still in shock. We've been planning this since March or April and we managed to keep it a secret," she said.
"He had no idea."
It's clear from the video that he was over the moon with the present, even managed to crack a few jokes with his family.
"September? I'll be dead by the time I get to Australia. I won't be able to smoke a fag," Oliver, who now lives in Shinrone, said.
"I'm in f***ing shock."
Amy says all his extended family in Australia are dying to having him over.
"They're very excited. All the nieces and nephews. Grandnephews and grandnieces."
