There are not many people who get to hug a giant bear and live to tell the tale.
Not alone did this man live to tell the tale, but he seemed to make a new best friend in the process.
In this incredible video, first released on the Orphaned Wildlife Facebook page, shows bear trainer Jim Kowalczik bonding with a huge Kodiak bear that has been under his care for around 20 years.
The bear, Jimbo, can be seen licking and hugging his trainer, who calmly reciprocates, occasionally asking him to calm down.
Jimbo is one of 11 bears that reside at the huge wildlife facility located around two hours from New York City. All of the bears in the centre are just as friendly as Jimbo, since they've been raised by humans, according to one of the centre's directors Kerry Clair.
“Our primary purpose is to release these animals into the wild,” she told the New York Times.
“We only keep them if there’s some problem.”
The video has been viewed more than 11 million times since it was published online.
