An Irish woman has captured one of the most amazing moments in nature on camera.
Leitrim native Edwina Guckian filmed the fascinating phenomenon of a murmuration over the River Shannon.
A murmuration, or flocking starlings, are one of nature's most incredible sights.
Edwina captured thousands of starlings forming dark, moving clouds in the dusk sky over the Shannon.
The starlings twist and turn in the sky, unknowingly creating shapes familiar to the human eye.
Caught on camera on Friday evening, Edwina said what is more amazing is it's a nightly occurrence at the moment.
"The starlings have been doing this every evening this week since between 8.30 and 10. It's like a timetabled air show," she told Independent.ie.
It is not the first time a murmuration in Ireland has caught the attention of the internet - a video of another mumeration over the River Shannon went viral with almost seven million views in 2011.
