WATCH: 'Could this be you?' - Irish student shares her heartbreaking story of homelessness
A DCU student has shared a powerful video that documents her harrowing experience with homelessness.
Laura Horan, from Coolock, Dublin, revealed that she was homeless as a child, and, for a short spell during her time in college.
The final-year journalism student has shared her own heartbreaking story in an effort to change people's perspectives and break down the stereotypes associated with homelessness in Ireland.
The video is part of a 24-hour broadcast streamed live by DCU’s Media Production Society (MPS) which this year will raise funds for the Peter McVerry Trust.
Laura said: "Having a home should be a basic right and donating to this charity can help everyday people receive the same rights as others! It's horrible to not have somewhere to call your own, and donating to this charity can help so many people and change their lives completely."
