This rain is no laughing matter.

We all know what it's like to get a fit of the giggles at the most inappropriate moment.

The harder you try to suppress your laughter, the heartier your laughter becomes and all of a sudden everything is funny.

So spare a thought for BBC weather presenter Louise Lear who lost the run of herself in laughs live on air on Wednesday.

As newsreader Simon McCoy introduced the weather forecaster she began laughing uncontrollably and struggled to compose herself as she read her report.

Simon even gave her a second chance to get herself together after his initial handover but poor Louise couldn't stop laughing, even wiping a tear from her eye at one stage.

The newsreader has a reputation for joking with weather presenters so perhaps he's responsible for her giggles?
