Teale has been forced to deny rumours that the incident was staged for emphasis.

Earlier this week, Teale was summing up a report on sexual harassment live on-air when a passer-by shouted 'f*ck her right in the p**y!", a phrase which has become trendy to shout at unsuspecting news reporters.

Teale can be seen to react to the comment, saying "Yeah. Like that!", referring the the statistic on catcalling in the street said just before the interruption.

Speaking to the BBC, Teale denied the incident was fake.

‘It’s fairly obvious from my reaction that it wasn’t staged... If it is a craze it doesn’t make it any less offensive.’
