WATCH: Band frontman storms off stage after getting hit in the face by a plastic bottle Newsdesk Newsdesk

The frontman of a popular Manchester band dramatically ended a gig after two songs when he was hit in the face by a plastic bottle.

The Courteeners singer Liam Fray was not impressed when a member of a small audience flung the bottle at him early in their gig at the Hippodrome in Surrey.

The band, who had already asked people to stop throwing bottles, left the stage. Fray briefly reappeared on stage to point out the alleged offending audience member to security.

Fans were then left for close to half an hour, before officials came out to them them the band would not be continuing their show.

Not long after the show abruptly ended one fan tweeted: "Looks like I give up. 82 pound train. 12 pound ticket. Trek to Kingston. Two songs. A plastic bottle mate."

Fray retweeted this, adding: "Good. People like You I don't want watching us. Have a good life you c**t."

The band are currently on tour promoting their fifth album.
