Three girls from cancer support portrait get happy remission news
Three young children with cancer who were placed together for a photograph have all received happy news related to their conditions.
The three girls met at the shoot and posed for a photograph clutching each other to highlight the importance of 'knowing you're not alone'.
The image, taken by photographer Lora Scantling, quickly went viral and was shared around the world.
The photo, taken four months ago, shows (l-r) Rylie, Rheann and Ainsley. Rylie had just been given the all-clear following stage five kidney cancer. Rheann was undergoing treatment for brain cancer and Ainsley was in remission from leukemia.
The happy news that Rheann had joined the other girls in remission came from Rheann's Facebook page.
"For those of you just joining us on Rheann's page I can say that Rylie, Ainsley, and Rheann are now in remission!!! Rheann was just declared in remission very recently and as of her last MRI (on July 2nd) she is STILL clear!"
Speaking to Yahoo a year ago, Rheann's mother admitted that her doctors were not optimistic about the 6-year-old's chances.
"The doctors didn’t think she would make it through last summer... but she sure proved them wrong."
