The Irish Times fall foul of Facebook for "rudey pic" post
Skinny-dipping pic was not appreciated by social media giant
The Irish Times fell foul of Facebook policy after posting a picture of a skinny-dipping man.
The website took to their Facebook page to "apologise for the interruption to our service", explaining "It seems we fell foul of the social media overlords in Palo Alto".
The photo was to accompany a piece on the death of a lifelong Irish Times photographer Paddy Whelan, to illustrate his "mischievous side".
The Times took Facebook's decision with humour, posting the "offending" picture to Twitter with a hilarious social-media friendly amendment.
The Facebook page is now back up and running.
