Expect another family member in the morning queue for the bathroom – now that your cat could be joining it...

A device that is teaching cats how to use human toilets is becoming a big seller, and it’s available in Ireland.

The Litter Kwitter uses a colour-coded ‘training discs’ to teach a cat how to spend a penny, the human way.

Created in Australia, the ingenious device is now available in Maxi Zoo stores.

“We have never seen anything like this product or the response from cat owners. It is simply phenomenal,” executive director of Mazi Zoo Ireland Alice Cross told ‘The Nationalist’ as the kitty potties are reportedly flying off the shelves.

Australian Jo Lapidge created the cat toilet trainer after he was inspired by the cat ‘Mr Jinks’ in the Hollywood movie ‘Meet The Parents’.

The modern litter tray is retailing at a cost of €49.99.
