Just like in the movie Serendipity, fate has a way of reconnecting long lost loves.
Earlier this week, a €20 note went viral.
It read, "Christy, it's always been you! Come and find me - Megan x".
The bank note wound its way into the hands of a Meath woman named Denise O'Reilly, who took it upon herself to solve the puzzle.
Denise, who works in Supervalu Kells, shared an image of the money on Facebook in a hope to reconnect the couple.
“Found this is my purse this morning! Ah Christy, she loves you! Go get your girl. Come on people and share,” Denise wrote on the post which was subsequently shared 16,000 times.
The mystery has now been solved and the pair have been united.
Christy, a young Dublin based musician, told Anton Savage on Today FM that he had gotten in touch with his former flame Megan.
"Megan was the name I used to call my ex-girlfriend. We went out for a year and a half. The name arose from when I misheard her name and though she was Megan from our first week of dating. The it stuck," he revealed.
"I'm a musician and while we were going out I wrote her a song called It's Always Been You."
"We broke up, she met someone new. After I saw the €20 note on Facebook, I called her. She told me she had written it on a note she used to pay into one of my gigs. I didn't even know she was there," he recalled.
"She told me she thought I'd get the cash directly but I obviously didn't. She took it that I didn't want to talk."
"So, now we're in touch again but the situation is quite different," he revealed.
