The plot thickens.

Melania and Donald Trump's marriage has been under the microscope since his inauguration just over 100 days ago.

Ever since the First Lady decided to stay in New York during the week while the President resides in Washington eyebrows have been raised and questions have been asked about the state of their marriage.

She made a rare public appearance and speech at the State Department in March, but on the whole she has preferred to stay out of the spotlight.

Her last major public speech prior to that - at the Republican National Convention - was criticised as it appeared to draw from a speech given by former First Lady Michelle Obama.

On social media, she has two Twitter accounts, a personal and an official, both of which are verified.  On her personal account she has only favourited one tweet - her own very first tweet - until now.

She caused a stir on Tuesday when she favourited a tweet by journalist Andry Ostroy.

The tweet included a gif of her at the inauguration, smiling broadly as her husband turned to speak to her, and then turning instantly stony faced when he turned back.

Ostroy captioned the tweet, "Seems the only #Wall @realDonalTrump's built is the one between him and @FLOTUS #Melania #trump".

Is Melania trying to tell the world something about her relationship?  Was it a 'cry for help'? Or was it an accidental favourite?  Or was she hacked?  Or is it not her official account despite the 'verified' tick?

Whatever the truth of the matter, it has since been deleted.
