A 24-year-old Indian has left his job in order to train full-time for his attempt to beat the World Record for 'Most Selfies In An Hour'.
The record is currently held by American football player Patrick Peterson with 1,449 selfies in one hour.
Bhanu Prakash left his job as a research assistant at a hospital in order to allow him to 'train full-time' for the feat, and told Buzzfeed that his parents were "initally sad" but are now happy that he is "trying something unique".
Prakash told Buzzfeed that he "fell in love with selfies" after hearing his friends discuss Dwayne Johnson's record of 105 selfies in three minutes. "When I reached home, I did some research work for the application process... that's what inspired me".
Prakash is currently training to take 1,700 selfies in an hour but aims to beat the record with 1,800. His training involves hand and wrist exercises and holding his phone aloft for hours and his official attempt will take place on September 18th.
Prakesh took his first selfie three years ago when he received his first mobile phone as a birthday present.
