While your Irish buddies living the life Down Under eagerly anticipate their packages of Barry's Tea and Tayto crisps, home grown Aussies may also soon be looking elsewhere for their foodstuff fix.
Chocolate lovers in Australia have been sent into a panic with the news that the country is facing a nationwide shortage of Nutella.
Ferrero Australia have confirmed the impending drought, with fingers pointing at Melbourne and its current craze for Nutella-based desserts for supply emergency.
With commercial-sized three-kilogram tubs currently out of stock as a result of the increased demand for the chocolately substance, pastry shops have turned to local grocery stores to buy smaller Nutella tubs.
This has impacted the supply for the general public significantly as regular consumers are left wanting.
Furthermore, Ferrero have said that the next shipment of the spread is not due to hit Aussie shores from Italy until August so addicts may have to go cold turkey for at least a week.
Thank heavens we have Cadburys.
