When Irishman Stephen Neeson bought a packet of mixed nuts from his local shop, he wasn't expecting this unpleasant surprise in the bag.
Mixed in among the peanuts and pistachios was a live maggot still wriggling around. Mr Neeson, who now lives in Belfast, said he felt sick when he made the discovery.
"I only noticed it at the last minute," he said.
"I had been eating away at them all day and then poured the last handful into my hand. Just as I was was about to shovel them in when I spotted the thing moving."
The 28-year-old went straight onto Facebook to complain on the shop's page.
"I think the packaging on your products need updating to inform customers that they may contain creatures," he wrote.
"It was a bag of nuts I was looking for, not a bushtucker trial."
The shop requested Mr Neeson bring everything back into the shop and they would investigate with the supplier.
"They could offer me free nuts for life, but I don't think I'll eat another nut again," Mr Neeson said.
