Tom Hanks consistently behaves like a top class human being and his most recent act of soundness involves his attempt to return a lost ID card to an NYC student.
Hanks took to Twitter with a photo of the ID card of the student Lauren (he covered her surname with his thumb) from Fordham University and wrote, "Lauren! I found your Student ID in the park. If you still need it my office will get to you. Hanx."
The tweet has been favourited and shared thousands of times with Hanks drawing praise from followers for his total awesomeness.
Now it turns out Lauren (whose surname has been revealed as Whitmore) has been found.
She told WCBS-TV that she does not have a Twitter account but that one of her professors sent her a link to Twitter and said, "You're famous".
She revealed she was jogging in Central Park on Monday and her card must have fallen out.
It's not the first time Hanks has sought to reunite lost property with its owner. He has been on one-man mission to reunite the lost gloves of New York with their matches.
The Bridge of Spies star recently experienced a similar act of kindness from a stranger who found his credit card in the street in New York and returned it to the star.
