An Irish primary school teacher has become a educational sensation.
John D Ruddy (26) launched his YouTube channel to make his lessons interactive, but was not expecting them to go viral around the globe.
Teachers all over the world have been using his educational clips to teach their own students.
The Letterkenny native has been uploading six to nine minute historical and geographical educational videos over the last year
His most successful upload, Ruddy's World War 1 In 6 Minutes, has clocked up an impressive one million views to date.
Each synopsis is brought to life in humourous animations featuring Ruddy’s own character Manny Man, who morphs into various historical figures.
Other popular videos on the channel include, The History of Ireland in 6 Minutes, The Conflicts of The North of Ireland, World War I, World War II, The Cold War, The French Revolution and The American War of Independence.
His study aids for Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate English, including renditions of Shakespeare's most famous plays, have also been used by many teachers across the country.
With three million channel views, Ruddy is keen to keep expanding his offering.
Ruddy will be showcasing his videos and books at FÉILTE 2015 in the RDS on 3 October 2015.
This is the Festival of Education in Learning and Teaching Excellence where teachers showcase their work in leading innovative learning.
