It's been a while since Ireland has had any for of success at the Eurovision, but has the solution been under our nose the whole time?

We all know the lyrics and all know the tune, so maybe the Father Ted classic 'My Lovely Horse' would be the perfect Irish entry to Eurovision 2018 and this band think they might be the ones to perform it.

Mullingar Band 'Fallen Lights', made up of  Graham Dowling, Andrew Cody, Jay Wiley and Joe Murray, uploaded this video to their Facebook page on Friday, where it has since been watched close to 70,000 times.

The four piece sing along to the iconic anthem outside the famous Ted house in Clare and it's got quite the positive reaction online already.

The band have recently released their first single Pricetag and will perform their first headline show in Whelans on 29 July.

Have a watch in the video about and see for yourself.
