Can you solve this car in a box brain teaser? Be warned, only 36pc of people have figured it out so far
Another brain teaser has been baffling the Internet.
The puzzle was created for Brilliant.org by user Puzzlefizzy is Awesome and has been played by over 300,000 people and, so far, approximately 36 per cent of those who have played the challenge on the website have been correct.
The car-box brain teaser
You are presented with three boxes, one of which contains a car. Each box has a statement written on it.
Box One: The car is in this box.
Box Two: The car is NOT in this box.
Box Three: The car is NOT in box one.
Only one of the statements is correct.
Can you figure it out?
Scroll down for the answer
The answer is Box two.
The aim is to work out which statement is correct by process of elimination.
If the 'car' was in Box one, that would mean that the statements on Box one and Box three were both correct.
Similarly, if the car was in Box three, that would mean the statements on Box two and Box three were both correct.
However if the car is in Box two, then the only statement which is true is the one written on Box three 'The car is not in Box one'
