Arachnophobes look away - this huge spider was snapped while creeping to into someone’s house.

The large huntsman spider was caught on camera lurking in the doorway of an Australian home,

Flattened against the glass panel, the eight-legged menace avoided detection until the homeowner spotted something from the corner of their eye and went to investigate.

Posting the image to Reddit under the title “Meanwhile in Australia”, the user who snapped the terrifying picture described the huntsman as a “terrifying door stopper”.

The image of the chunky arachnid has already been viewed more than 48,000 times in the last 24 hours.

While many posters on Reddit dismissed the image as fake, with some saying it was “clearly made out of pipe cleaners”, others were not so sure.

“That’s a Huntsman,” said one user who claimed the spider was typical of Australia.

Explaining it was not venomous and therefore would cause no harm, he continued: “He's your furry friend who's fun to be with. He eats other spiders.”

Many Reddit users were left horrified by the creepy-crawly, with one posting recounting a previous run-in with a Huntsman.

“I remember, as a naive backpacker, harassing one of these with a mate. I've never seen a spider move so fast as it came straight at us, fucking terrifying.”
