An Irish couple tried to placate their fellow passengers with a bribe on an Aer Lingus flight.

The couple were travelling with their baby on a long haul flight from Dublin to Washington and were worried that she might become unsettled during the flight and rattle their fellow passengers.

In an effort to keep them sweet, the parents created a goodie bag filled with chocolate treats and earplugs and gave them to every passenger.

The goodie bags also included a note that read: "Hi! My name is Caoimhe. I'm usually smiley and sweet but I can't promise I won't make a peppe. Here are some earplugs and treats for you to keep. Enjoy your flight."

The fears turned out to be unfounded as Caoimhe enjoyed a comfortable flight without any tears.
