Ahead of the NYC triathlon on Friday, around 30 adorable babies gathered for the Diaper Dash.

Some babies had to be baited to the finish line with teddies and toys, while others simply didn't fancy it.

However, one-year-old Liam Herald managed to crawl his way to victory.

“He has been working on it for a year now”, John said jokingly. “He's been working on his training, he pushes furniture around the apartment to build his leg strength”.

The Derby is just one part of the family event held for those participating in the triathlon.

The annual event consists of 1500m swim, 40km bike ride and a 10km run in central park.
