'So like UKIP on steroids?' - Social media users getting to grips with DUP

News that the Theresa May and the Conservative Party would be seeking to go into a coalition with the Democratic Unionist Party led to a lot of confused Brits this afternoon.

Large losses for the Tories resulted in May reaching out to Arlene Foster and the DUP in an attempt to keep power and form a minority government.

For many people in Britain though, one simple question was on their minds; who even are the DUP?

Such was the lack of knowledge of the Northern Ireland political party, the DUP’s official website was reported to have crashed due to the unusually large amount of traffic.
