A man has gained 100,000 likes on Instagram by posting what he claimed to be the winning Powerball ticket on his Instagram account.
Professional skateboarder Erik Bragg claimed on social media to be the lucky LA winner of the $1.5bn 'Powerball' lottery.
"OMG I WON $1.5 BILLION!!!!!", he wrote, underneath the photo of himself holding a Powerball ticket.
He claimed that he bought the ticket in Chino Hills, "where I grew up", but commenters are sceptical about the validity of the claim.
The photo went viral after being posted to reddit by an anonymous user.
Bragg then took to a newly-created Twitter account to promise to give away some of his winnings to each and every person who retweeted him, earning himself over 125,000 retweets and 20,000 followers.
@Banks 100% everyone claiming to be the winner tonight is trolling.— Daniel Kross (@Kross) January 14, 2016
Bragg is a professional skateboarder and 'Instagram star', and many have pointed out that it was a clever marketing campaign on his behalf to build his following.
The photo in question shows a clearly photoshopped Powerball ticket with only one line of numbers on it, although it would be feasible that he photoshopped it so others could not recreate his ticket and claim his prrize.
