Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas has vowed to ramp up security after visitors to the museum took rude photos depicting a sex act with the Nicki Minaj waxwork.

The waxwork, which features Minaj in a pose on her hands and knees taken from her Anaconda video, was installed earlier this month.

Minaj then posted photos to Instagram showing visitors posing inappropriately with her waxwork and Madame Tussauds responded by issuing a statement vowing to prevent it from happening again.

"We have been made aware of the inappropriate photograph that was taken at Madame Tussaudes Las Vegas, involving Nicki Minaj's new wax figure," they wrote on Twitter.

"Madame Tussauds attractions are interactive, immersive experiences and our visitors are generally respectful towards the wax figures.

"It is unfortunate that this visitor decided to behave so inappropriately and we apologise for any offence this has caused."

They also vowed to take "immediate steps to ensure more staff are present in this area and that the set around this particular figure is redesigned so that a picture like this cannot be taken again."

Earlier this month Azaelia Banks took to Twitter to question why Minaj had been depicted on all fours.

"Wow, they finally give nicki minaj a wax figure and it's a statue of her bent over on all fours...... White people yo...." she wrote.

She added, "As much as that woman has accomplished, they had to put her on all fours... Why not standing up with a mic in her hand ???

"I would complain and ask for a do-over. That's such underhanded shade

"Martha Stewart's most iconic moment was when she went to jail but they didn't put her wax figure in a jail uniform... Come on y'all..."

She also correctly predicted how some people would respond to the waxwork.

"All ppl are gonna do is go up to that statue and take pictures shoving their crotch in her face and putting their crotch on her butt".
