An "exquisite replica" of the famous car is up for grabs for €7,500.

"It was made for promotional purposes a couple of years ago, but I've no use for it nowadays," its owner told the Herald.

"It's been sitting in the garden under a tarp for the last 12 months, so I'd love to find it a good home.

"It's perfect for anyone running a pet store, dog grooming business, or even someone looking for a good van. All that dog stuff can be removed."

Located in north Dublin near the airport, the shaggy four-wheeler is a 1986 Ford Econoline with around 83,000 miles on the clock.

The owner said it has its original 5.6-litre petrol engine and "runs and drives well".

"It a fine van, I just don't need it anymore. I'd be delighted to sell it because I'm a bit worried now about all the attention the ad has been getting the last few days."

Posted on donedeal.ie less than 24 hours ago, the advert has already had more than 20,000 hits.

"It's really become popular, but I've only had a couple of calls enquiring about it.

"I've been trying to sell it for about a year now. I get that its kind of a novelty but that's why I think it would be ideal for the right business."

The van was originally imported from the USA .

"The exterior is covered with high-grade carpet and all the exterior additions are bolted to the frame of the vehicle so its 100pc safe to drive. The interior is the original," he added.

The van was originally listed for €10,000.
