Robbie Keane has made a surprise appearance at IKEA.

  • Go To

Before taking to the pitch for the opener of the Group E game against Sweden at the 78th minute, the Republic of Ireland captain managed to squeeze in an appearance at IKEA.

But all was, obviously, not what it seemed

It wasn't the real Robbie Keane but an homage created to the football star, using over 2,500 IKEA tea lights in the patriotic tricolour.

2,500 tea lights - can you just imagine the instruction manual for that one?

It goes to show that Euro fever has well and truly gripped the nation. There's no escaping it, even if you're just popping to IKEA for a lamp, a new storage bin and a toaster - minding your own business - you'll still be confronted with some aspect of it.

There's the tricolour-painted house down the road, the buntings decorating the street, the green, white and orange-coloured everything.

Who are we kidding though? We love it!

What will we do when it's all over?
