Betsy McCaughey, the former lieutenant governor of New York, appeared on CNN last night to take part in a round-table discussion on the US presidential election.

The ardent Trump supporter argued that Clinton is no better than Donald Trump and his "locker room talk". Her reason? Clinton likes Beyonce and the singer uses racy lyrics.

"She likes language like this: 'I came to slay b**ch'," McCaughey said on Monday's CNN Tonight with Don Lemon.

Lemon struggled to contain his laughter as McCaughey recited more of Beyonce's lyrics from Formation.

"When he f**k me good, I take his a** to Red Lobster, cause I slay," McCaughey added, trying to illustrate Clinton’s alleged hypocrisy for denouncing Trump’s lewd remarks as “horrific.”

She was referring to a 2005 recording which emerged over the weekend which shows Trump making lewd comments about women.

On the tape, Trump, who was preparing for an appearance on the Days Of Our Lives show, said: "I am automatically attracted to beautiful women. I just start kissing them. It's like a magnet. Just kiss, I don't even wait... and when you're a star, they let you do it. You can do anything."

"Grab them by the p***y. You can do anything."

Trump dismissed his comments as "locker room banter" during a debate with his rival Clinton on Sunday night.

McCaughey defended her dislike for Beyoncé's music by comparing it to hip-hop and rap, despite the fact that Beyonce has never released an album in either genre.

"I abhor lewd body language, McCaughey said. "I don't listen to rap music, I don't like that kind of thing."

“It’s full of the f-word, the p-word, the b-word, the a-word,” she added.

In May, Clinton told the Ellen DeGeneres Show that she was a big fan of Beyonce and loved her latest album Lemonade. And last year the US Secretary of State told voters she wanted to be "as good a president as Beyonce is a performer".
