Amy Huberman has given followers a sneak peek of her upcoming comedy short for Sky.

She may have a best-selling footwear collection and a new beauty salon to keep her busy, but that hasn’t kept the Dublin actress from her on-screen work.

She stars alongside Irish comic Jason Byrne in ‘The Rug’, one of the six short films commissioned by Sky 1 for Sky Comedy Shorts.

Huberman posted a behind-the-scenes photo on Instagram, in which she and Byrne pose with fellow comedian Sharon Horgan, whose company Merman is producing the short.

"Well @sharonhorgan and @thejasonbyrne looked like they were having fun but I don't like to have any fun whatsoever," she wrote.

"I take everything incredibly seriously. Especially rugs. #TheRug #Sky."

The pair play a husband and wife who make a spontaneous decision to steal a rug from a store and suffer dire consequences.

Horgan shared another image of the two with their stolen rug.

Speaking about his episode, Byrne said: “I’m like a kid with a new toy, so excited to be working with Merman, ecstatic about working with Sharon Horgan and icing on the cake, Amy Huberman playing the wife.

"Thank you The Man in the Sky, or sorry… the people at Sky.”

Each of the shorts will be set in Ireland and will also star comedians Al Porter, Alison Spittle and Katherine Ryan.

Sky Comedy Shorts will be available via Sky’s On Demand service from June 4, and will premiere at Kilkenny's Cat Laughs Comedy Festival on the same day.

Later in June, viewers can catch the series on Sky Arts.
