AMY MARTIN, 19, can have no greater mentor for this year's Miss Ireland contest than her aunt, Jackie Rafter, who at the same age was a contestant in the competition 29 years ago.
"I've told Amy to go with the flow, to take it all with a pinch of salt and to enjoy it," says Jackie, one of our most successful models.
"The confidence it will give Amy will stand to her all her life," says Jackie, who was a contestant in the year that Valerie Roe won the title.
Amy is the daughter of Jackie's twin sister Louise and is representing Miss Wright Bar group in this year's Miss Ireland.
Jackie's daughter Kate, 23, and Amy are close friends. Kate is starting her Masters degree in the Smurfit Business School and Jackie's son Daniel is learning the hairdressing business with his famous father, David Marshall.
