Dublin's Westin hotel flies flags ahead of St Patrick's Day - but gets it all wrong
The Westin hotel in Dublin was left red-faced after showcasing loyalty for another country ahead of tomorrow's festivities.
In attempting to hang out Ireland's tricolour alongside the American stars and stripes, the five star luxury hotel managed to get things upside down.
One of the first to bring the blunder to the Westin's management's attention was Alan O'Connor (@JiveCork) who tweeted:
"Hey @Westin your Dublin hotel must be a big Ivory Coast supporter this St Patrick's weekend. (Hint Green at the top)"
It took a couple of hours for Twitter controllers at the hotel to get back but they did respond to O'Connor, apologising for the gaffe.
"Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have contacted the hotel to have this fixed," they posted.
Let's hope we'll have a right-side up flag to represent the nation blowing in the wind on St. Patrick's Day morning.
