Speaker Profile: Pauline Walley

Senior Counsel Civil, Criminal and Internet Litigation


Pauline Walley SC, LLM. Comm. Law, Dip.Arb. Law, ACIS, is a senior counsel with a general practice in civil, criminal and internet litigation.

Ms Walley was called to the Bar of Ireland in 1989, having previously worked in insolvency law. She was called to the Inner Bar in March 2005. 

She was a founder member of the Irish Women Lawyers Association and the Irish Criminal Bar Association, of which she is a former Chair.

Ms Walley has a particular interest in privacy, data protection and IP law.

She has written and lectured extensively in the Republic of Ireland on the challenging legal issues associated with emerging technologies, to include privacy, defamation and online harassment.

Ms Walley is a co-author of the legal text Cyber Law and Employment, published by Roundhall Publishers in early 2016. She is also a qualified mediator (CEDR).
