Experienced technology lawyer Jonathan Armstrong to join DataSec 2017 lineup

Jonathan Armstrong, co-author of one of the definitive works on technology law, “Managing Risk: Technology & Communications” has been confirmed as one of the expert speakers who will address the DataSec 2017 conference takes place on 3rd of May in the RDS in Dublin, where he will address delegates on 'Managing your company's privacy programme'.

A partner in Cordery, Jonathan is an experienced lawyer with a concentration on technology and compliance, advising multinational companies on matters involving risk, compliance and technology across Europe.

He was recently ranked as the 14th most influential figure in data security worldwide by Onalytica in their 2016 Data Security Top 100 Influencers and Brands Survey.

Over a 20 year career Jonathan has handled legal matters in more than 60 countries involving emerging technology, corporate governance, ethics code implementation, reputation, internal investigations, marketing, branding and global privacy policies.

He has counselled a range of clients on breach prevention, mitigation and response.

Jonathan qualified as a lawyer in the UK in 1991 and has focused on technology, risk and governance matters for more than 20 years. A Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales, he has also been admitted as a Solicitor in Ireland, though he is not practising here.

Complimenting his legal career in technology, risk and governance matters, Jonathan is a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Marketing.

A frequent broadcaster for the BBC and other channels, he has spoken at conferences in the U.S., Canada, China, Brazil, Singapore, Vietnam, the Middle East and across Europe.
