SHARES in Ryanair, Smurfit Kappa and Deutsche Post DHL are among the top picks tipped by Davy Stockbrokers to beat the markets in 2013.
Davy says prospective investors should look for companies that can grow even when the rest of the economy is struggling, that have strong balance sheets and good cash flow and that will generate returns above cost of capital in 2013.
Irish companies C&C, DCC,
Ryanair, Smurfit Kappa and
Premier Oil all fit that profile, according to Davy.
So do international names
Holcim, IAG and
Deutsche Post DHL, according to the Dublin brokers.
Penneys owner ABF is tipped for success as the low-cost retailer expands into Germany, as is betting name
William Hill and Israeli food producer Frutarom.
