MOST stock exchange announcements are usually fairly dull, but one recently caught the eye of The Punt because of its headline – 'Operation Photo Rescue Coming to New York City to Restore Photos for Those Affected by Hurricane Sandy'.
The note to the ISE from JPMorgan Chase was alerting the market that the US non-profit organisation, Operation Photo Rescue, would be in the Big Apple next month to digitally copy photos for those who had them damaged by the devastating hurricane.
Anyone in the unfortunate situation can bring up to 20 photos to have them evaluated and potentially restored.
It's not quite clear what the connection is with JP Morgan Chase, or why such an announcement needed to be made to the market.
Perhaps staff at JP Morgan, or many of its investors, were badly affected by the storm.
Whatever the reasons, it sounds like a worthy cause.
