The firm that produces the Irish version of the 'Masterchef' cooking series got burnt at the edges last year as it posted a €60,000 loss.

Accounts just filed at the Companies Office for Dublin-based Screentime ShinAwiL productions show that it made the loss in the 12 months to the end of June 2011.

The firm also counted work in progress totalling just over €1m among its current assets at the end of the financial year, down from €1.6m a year earlier.

The company, which is headed by Larry Bass, also produces popular shows for RTE including 'Dragons' Den' and 'The Voice of Ireland'.

It has also produced four series of TV3's version of the recently axed 'The Apprentice'.
