Hertz cuts ties with Ryanair

Ryanair customers can no longer book hire cars through the airline's website after Hertz pulled its tie-in with the airline in a surprise move.
In response Ryanair's Michael O'Leary said his airline has instructed its lawyers to issue proceedings against Hertz, alleging the move was a breach of contract.
The airline is also seeking an alternative car hire partner, though that could take months.
Customers who have already booked cars will not be affected, and can still make changes to previous bookings.
The row erupted because Ryanair tickets, which used only to be available from the airline, can now be booked through travel agents using third party systems. Hertz is understood to have alleged that was a breach of contract."We are confident in our legal position and intend to pursue this matter vigorously through the courts," Hertz said.
Ryanair disputes there was a breach.
