CPL profits 'to be in line with forecasts'

Recruitment group CPL Resources says that it expects profits for the financial year just ended in June to be broadly in line with market expectations. It added that margins remained under pressure in Ireland.
Flights through our airspace rise 1.8pc
The number of flights that passed through Irish airspace in June rose 1.8pc to 1,644, compared with the corresponding month last year, according to the Irish Aviation Authority. It added that there was no change in the number of commercial flights at Dublin during the month, while those at Cork were down 3.5pc year-on-year and 22.5pc higher at Shannon.
Irish Life bidders are given sale memo

UP to 20 potential bidders for Irish Life Assurance have been given so-called "information memorandum" on the life insurer's sale and asked to submit expressions of interest by early August. A shortlist of bidders is expected to be drawn up, with final bids in September.

INDEPENDENT postal services company CityPOST has acquired Cork-based rival Document Express Postal Service (DEPS). DEPS serves business users throughout the Munster region.
Newspaper values Twitter at $8bn

Twitter is now worth $8bn (€5.6bn) according to the latest reports in the 'New York Times'. It comes just days after a valuation was put on the site of $7bn by sources quoted by Bloomberg.
