PCH International founder Liam Casey - Ireland's Mr China - has been honoured by the Institute of Management Consultants and Advisers Ireland (IMCA) for, wait for it, "demonstrable enterprise and innovation with lasting impact". Quite the mouthful.
The IMCA said the award was made to Mr Casey in recognition of his achievement in building PCH, the billion euro tech manufacturing specialist, and his success in developing a business in China and internationally. The IMCA medal award has now been in operation since 1990 and has been presented on an all-island basis since 2007, with a varied list of recepients including former President Mary McAleese, John Moloney, group managing director of Glanbia and Barry O'Leary, IDA chief executive.
Mr Casey described the award as an honour. "It's an honour to accept this accolade from the IMCA. I've had the privilege of leading a fantastic team on an incredible journey for almost 20 years.
"We are fortunate to work with companies who are passionate about brand, design and the customer experience," he added.
