The Punt: Investec's Cullen is on to a winner in the world of sport

Picking winners is notoriously tricky in business or in sport, but Investec Ireland boss Michael Cullen is developing serious form, despite having a stripey donkey as the bank's logo.
Barely a month ago the bank signed on as the first corporate sponsor of the Irish Showjumping team, which swiftly bagged the Aga Khan Trophy in front of a national and international TV audience at the RDS in Dublin.
The showjumping team is part of a stable (ahem) of successful sporting names now linked to Investec in Ireland. Golfer Paul McGinley has been with the South Africa-headquartered bank since he joined the European Tour in 1992 - probably one of the longest associations in Irish corporate sponsorship.
Monaghan GAA has been on the up since 2009, when it hooked up Investec as sponsor in a deal that has been renewed to run until 2017. The hits included landing Johnny Sexton as the face of Investec's wealth and investment campaign until earlier this year, a signing that even got the lads on Today Fm's Gift Grub excited.
