Ryanair hires another public affairs guru
Ryanair has appointed its second ever director of public affairs - two months after its first appointment to the role left after just three months with the airline.
Cristian Samoilovich, Ryanair's first head of public affairs, is a former Uber executive who was drafted to the airline to help champion its case in Brussels. But he left in May to take up a job with the UN.
He was headhunted from the global taxi firm and his appointment was hailed as a coup by Ryanair, whose relations with Brussels have been fraught.
He has been replaced by a new director of public affairs. Diarmuid O'Conghaile starts the Ryanair job today.
He is joining from the DAA, which runs Dublin and Cork airports. He was general manager of strategy, planning and economic regulation there.
