Tinder is testing a new update called "Tinder Social", which allows you to meet groups of people from the app.

The app stated the feature is about "meeting great groups of new people, and turning a basic night out into a night you'll never forget".

With the new update, you will be able to meet groups of people from the app, instead of just one as is the case now.

The update will be tested first in Australia, and if successful rolled out to the rest of the world.

On their website, they haven't explicitly said the group function is for group sex - but as romantic interactions are what the app  is predominantly used for, it isn't a jump to guess what "a night you'll never forget" might mean. This is especially relevant with the rise of rival app 3nder.

However, as Tinder connects to Facebook to find out information about you, and Tinder Social lets you use your account to see which of your friends are on the app in case you want your night to involve them, your Facebook friends will be able to see you're using the group meet-up app.
