The Stripe brothers have launched a new magazine - with a left-field choice for editor-in-chief
The Irish brothers behind payments firm Stripe have launched a magazine - with the woman behind an Uber sexual harassment claim at its helm.
Limerick's Patrick and John Collison's new publication Increment will contain features such as interviews with industry experts and guides on how software engineering teams can become more effective.
John (26) and Patrick (28) have gone from being highly gifted students to paper billionaires in just a few short years, with a company fundraising last November confirming that billionaire status.
The brothers each own around 12pc of the business Stripe, giving them a net worth of over $1bn each.
According to Fortune magazine, Patrick met Susan Fowler to discuss the blog she had written about alleged sexual harassment in her previous role in Uber.
Fowler, a former Uber engineer, wrote in a blog post that she was subjected to sexual advances but, when she reported the offense to human resources officials and management, they declined to punish the offender because he "was a high performer."
It is understood that Fowler was hired to found and serve as editor-in-chief at Increment after her meeting with Patrick. According to Susan's LinkedIn profile, she has been working at Stripe since January 2016.
Forbes has described Stripe - which currently employs over 600 people - as “a mobile payments phenomenon”.
