One of the worries about using a VR headset is that you won't hear your phone when it goes off, but this video shows that you can stay connected.

Virtual reality doesn’t have to completely cut you off from the real world and your connections within it if you don’t want it to. A video has been released that shows what it’s like to call and text while using the HTC Vive.

The video from Road to VR sees a Vive headset wearer receiving a notification that a friend sent a text. They pull up a dedicated menu, which shows them the text and gives them options to quick reply. In the end, they decide that calling back is the best option.

To be able to replicate this, you’ll need the HTC Vive headset, an Android smartphone, and the Vive Windows Desktop app, Steam, and SteamVR installed on a Windows PC. This will allow you to connect everything and stay connected even while inhabiting another world.
