Ubisoft alters The Division's beta plans
The Division's beta has been pushed back until early 2016, but there is good news for Xbox One players who have pre-ordered the game.
The Division's beta was due to get underway this month, but has been pushed back until early 2016, according to Ubisoft.
Instead, there will be an exclusive closed Xbox One alpha from December 9th until December 12th for players who have pre-ordered the game. Ubisoft added that those on the waiting list for the Xbox One alpha "may be granted access on an as needed basis."
This alpha will be "the first time the public gets to play a version of The Division that includes more than the Dark Zone PvP enabled areas." This will mean that Ubisoft will get insight into how its infrastructure performs under pressure in ways that it can't test internally or at tradeshows.
Ubisoft says that it plans to deliver "an open-world action-RPG experience that exceeds your expectations," hence the reason for the delayed beta.
The closed beta of The Division will launch early in 2016 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
The Division will be released on March 8th, 2016.
