Twitter Moments heading to more countries
Twitter is set to launch its curated content platform Moments in a number of new countries over the coming months
Twitter launched Moments in the US last year - a curated content feed which brought together stories, videos and images around specific events and presented them for users. The feed was also designed as a way to introduce newcomers to Twitter, as a more organised flow of information than the potentially bewildering stream of consciousness from the regular timeline. It takes the biggest and most important stories and picks out the significant data from tweets, presenting it in an accessible fashion. It looks pretty slick, and the aim would be to have teams producing localised and up to the minute feeds for countries around the world.
We're seeing the service spreading a little more today, with the launch of Moments in Australia, curated by a local team of journalists. It looks like the Aussie rollout will be followed by Canada in the near future, with reports of glimpses of the service in the iOS app recently. Twitter confirmed it is currently in the testing phase and might well arrive in April 2016.
There's no word of Moments arrive in Ireland but it does already have a UK version and with a major office in Dublin it can surely only be a matter of time.
