The Witcher 3 and Metal Gear Solid V snag four GDC Awards nominations apiece

The Witcher 3 and Metal Gear Solid V have been nominated for four Game Developer Choice Awards, including Game of the Year.

The Witcher 3 and Metal Gear Solid V have been nominated for four Game Developer Choice Awards this year.

The two will go up against one another in the Best Technology, and Game of the Year categories. Metal Gear Solid V has also been nominated for Best Audio and Best Design, while The Witcher 3 picked up nominations for Best Visual Art and Best Narrative.

A number of other games were nominated for multiple awards, including six titles that received three award nominations. Star Wars Battlefront has been recognised for Best Audio, Best Technology, and Best Visual Art; FromSoftware’s Bloodborne is in the running for Best Design, Best Visual Art, and Game of the Year, Fallout 4 received nominations for Best Design, Best Technology, and Game of the Year; and Splatoon pops up in the Best Design, Innovation Award, and Best Visual Art categories.

Beloved indie titles Her Story earned nominations for Best Handheld/Mobile, Innovation Award and Best Narrative, while Undertale was nominated for Innovation Award, Best Narrative and Best Debut for developer Toby Fox.

The 16th annual Game Developers Choice Awards will take place on March 16th.
