Valve has released a promo video for SteamVR in which it showcases how spectator mode will work in DotA 2, and it looks pretty cool.
Alongside the launch of the HTC Vive, Valve has showcased how DotA 2 fans will be able to utilise the headset.
There is a new spectator mode designed specifically for virtual reality that will provide fans with more data and a better viewing experience than ever before. Players sit in front of a giant screen with a minimap in front of them. On either side are the selected heroes, allowing spectators to check out individual builds.
It’s an interesting idea and a showcase of how VR could be used in games that you may not typically associate with VR. Rocket League, however, looks pretty standard.
Unfortunately, there’s no release date for the new VR spectator mode just yet.
